As Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer, Joanie is vital to the smooth and efficient function of KWA by managing human resources and also ensuring the firm meets compliance requirements. She maintains close contact with all team members and helps facilitate workflow processes at every level.

As a Senior Financial Advisor, she builds off her tax background at Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen to analyze, review and refine Comprehensive Financial Plans and portfolios. Upon joining KWA in 2003, Joanie earned her Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) designation from The American College. Joanie services our Japanese-speaking clients.

Joanie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from U.C. Berkeley, with a major in Legal Studies and a minor in Business Administration. She also has a Master of International and Business Law from Yokohama National University in Japan. Her work experience began while in Japan at the Arthur Andersen, Tokyo office. Missing Southern Cal, she continued her tax work at Arthur Andersen and Ernst and Young in Los Angeles.

When she is not leading KWA, Joanie is guiding her daughter’s Girl Scout troop or playing tennis with the family.
